International Commitment to Safe and Clean Water Globally

A better world through better water.

As the largest water association in the world, AWWA aims to drive the exchange of knowledge for improving the practice, elevating the standards and advancing the cause for safe and clean water. Global water challenges organizations, professionals, leaders and scientists to unite and share industry knowledge and expertise for a better future. Our efforts align with the UNs Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. Goal 6 is focused on ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. To learn more about the 17 goals visit the United Nations Website. As one of our essential International programs, AWWAIndia Association (AIA) was established in 2021 as an incorporated nonprofit to continue AWWA’s mission in India, on pace to become one of the world’s largest populated countries, where a majority of its 1.3 billion people suffer from a lack of access to safe drinking water. Our focus is to ensure that our cornerstone services remain, as emphasis is placed on essential programs around knowledge exchange and transfer.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

Case Studies that Demonstrate the Benefits of Water Reuse

Being a partner of the EPA’s Water Reuse Action Plan (WRAP), AWWA and many collaborators have helped to advance water reuse. Through global efforts, AWWA and the collaborators are excited to share the benefits of water reuse through case studies and projects on policy considerations and financial and contractual information. IC - International Council

The mission of the AWWA International Council is to develop and coordinate AWWA's international policies and activities, actively promoting AWWA participation in the global drinking water community, representing the interests of the international members in the governance of AWWA, and stimulating participation of international members and organizations within the Association.

Relationship Managers Committee: Manages AWWA relationships with target countries and associations
Conference Program Committee: Develops international programs at ACE and other conferences
Communications Committee: Develops communication materials for the International Council
Development Committee: Researches and develops opportunities for future AWWA international relationships
YP Committee: Coordinates with AWWA YP Committee on international activity initiatives
Nomination Committee: Nominates International Council members
